Week of 9/7 to 9/11

This week we sharpened our number sense by studying place value, including notation of large and small numbers, exponential and expanded notation and sequencing numbers. Throughout the week, the students worked on a Scavenger Hunt, using their Everyday Math Reference Books. This book should be stored at home for the entire school year. It will be a valuable reference that the students should be using for homework help when needed.
The students had a quiz on Friday, and started organizing their binders in class. The homework was to finish organizing their binders.
On Monday we will be going over the quiz from Friday, then we will be making sure our binders are in order. There is no school on Tuesday and on Wednesday we will be starting our new unit which will be focusing on Data.
